HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University cross country team hits the course on Saturday morning down in Thibodaux for the Sixth-Annual Nicholls Cross Country Invitational, presented by Walk-Ons at the Nicholls Farm.
 
The Lady Lions will open the day with the 5K race starting at 8 a.m. while the Lions will run a four-mile-long course, starting at 8:30 a.m. on the Nicholls Farm. Live results for both races will be available through Chipped Timing.
 
Southeastern returns to individual-timed racing after competing in a relay in SLU's last race, the LSU Invitational two weeks ago. Landen Schillage and Euan Lagan had the best time for the Lions in Baton Rouge on the 4K course while Ava Pitarro and Laney Wilkes were the first Lady Lions home in the event two weeks ago.
 
Pitarro led the SLU women in the only individual race run so far this season, the Battle for New Orleans, as she completed the 4K route in 16:14.87. The men were led by Schillage that day, crossing the finish line after running 5K in 16:43.05.
 
Saturday's race in Thibodaux is the third of four scheduled races prior to the SLC Championships. Southeastern's final race before the Conference Championships is Mississippi College's Watson College Classic in three weeks.
