Southeastern Places 128 on SLC Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll

Baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, golf, softball, tennis and track student-athletes recognized for academic success

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University Athletics was represented by 128 student-athletes on the Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring 2024 Academic Honor Roll, which was released by the league office Tuesday.
 
To be eligible for inclusion on the SLC Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll, student-athletes from the sports of baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, golf, softball, tennis and track and field must've finished the Spring 2024 semester with a semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A total of 1,247 student-athletes across the league's 10 member institutions made the list.
 
Southeastern was fourth among Southland schools with its 128 representatives. Of those 128, 36 Lion and Lady Lions finished the spring semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
The SLU men's track and field program led the department with 26 selections, ranking third among SLC men's track teams. The Lion baseball team followed with 24 representatives.
 
The SLC Tournament champion Southeastern softball team was third in the conference among softball programs with 20 members. The Lady Lion women's track and field program placed 18 on the list, while the beach volleyball team was also third in the SLC among beach volleyball programs with 13 representatives.
 
The Southeastern women's tennis team was second among Southland women's tennis programs, as both it and the men's golf team nearly placed the entire team on the list with nine and seven selections, respectively. The women's basketball (seven) and men's basketball (four) teams rounded out SLU's selections.
