HAMMOND, La. – The Southland Conference tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will make its first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament, while the baseball team will close out the regular season during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The SLU softball team (45-13) will compete in the Tuscaloosa Regional, which runs Friday through Sunday. The Lady Lions will open tournament play versus Clemson on Friday at 1 p.m. in a regional field that also includes host and national No. 14 seed Alabama and USC-Upstate.
 
The Southeastern baseball team (26-24, 8-13 SLC) will host four games at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field this week to close out the regular season. South Alabama visits Tuesday for a 6 p.m. nonconference contest.
 
Tuesday will be Margaritaville Night at the Pat, as fans are encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt and enjoy the island vibes. Every Tuesday at the Pat this season is a $2 Tuesday, as hot dogs and general admission tickets will be just $2. Kids aged 12 and under can also stand with their favorite Lion during the national anthem prior to Tuesday's game.  
 
SLU will then set its sights on securing a spot in next week's North Oaks Health System Southland Conference Baseball Championship, set for May 22-25 in Hammond. The Lions will welcome Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a three-game SLC series that opens Thursday at 6 p.m., continues Friday at 6 p.m. and concludes Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
Southeastern will honor its 2024 senior class in conjunction with Friday's contest. Fans will have the chance to win prizes by playing Bingo at the Ballpark at Saturday's regular season finale.

SLU's NCAA Tournament debut will be televised on ACC Network. All of this week's baseball action will be televised on ESPN+ and air on 90.9 The Lion.
