MALIBU, Calif. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team split two matches Saturday afternoon to close out the weekend in the Waves Tournament hosted in Malibu, California.
Southeastern (11-14, 3-4 SLC) started day two with a 3-2 loss to CSU Bakersfield (13-15). The Roadrunners snapped their losing streak in the tournament with two matches won by two set decisions. SLU's pair one and three provided a spark to gain two wins in the first match.
The Lady Lions bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Concordia University Irvine (19-11) to end the day. Southeastern secured the win with three matches decided with two commanding sets.
Saturday's Results:
SLU will return to the sand to compete in the Battle on the Bayou April 12-13. Southeastern will take on ULM Friday morning at 10 a.m. before facing Jacksonville at 4 p.m. to end day one. The Lady Lions will rematch conference rival New Orleans at 9:15 a.m. before battling LSU Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. to cap the weekend.
