MALIBU, Calif. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team drops a pair of matches to open day one of the Waves Tournament in Malibu, California.
Southeastern (10-13, 3-4 SLC) started the day with a 4-1 loss to home-standing Pepperdine (14-10). The Waves gained momentum over SLU winning four matches by two sets to extend their two-game winning streak into the weekend. Juniors Andrea Da Silva and Rachel Hartmann secured a two-set victory to help the Lady Lions evade the sweep.
SLU returned to the sand with a tough 4-1 loss to UC Davis (15-12) to end the day Friday evening. Senior

Mia McKinney battled to attain a three-set victory in the duel against the Aggies on the road.
Friday's Results:
The Lady Lions will look to bounce back Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. against CSU Bakersfield before taking on Concordia University Irvine at 5 p.m. to end the weekend.
