HAMMOND, La. – After a good week at the Texas Relays, the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field team returns to competition in the home state for the final three meets before the Conference Championships, starting on Saturday back in Baton Rouge for the Pelican Relays, hosted by Southern University, at A.W. Mumford Stadium.
The Lions are coming off of a good week at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays where
Lance Hamilton moved to the top of the Southland in the triple jump competition while
Gabriel Lim continued to move up the ranks in the javelin.
Esther Nwanze,
Terrell Webb, and
Slavko Stevic all continued to show they will also be forces to take seriously with three meets remaining before the SLC Championships.
While the action at the Pelican Relays started on Friday, all of Southeastern's competitors will be in events scheduled for Saturday which includes the high jump, triple jump, relays, hurdles, and most sprints.
Saturday's action begins at 9:30 a.m. with the discus competition while the track events start at 1:30 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay. All events in the Pelican Relays take place at A.W. Mumford Stadium on the Southern University campus.
