PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – The Southeastern Louisiana University track and field team got its first bit of action in the Penn Relays, presented by Toyota, as
Terrell Webb finished 10
th in the hammer throw competition on Thursday at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
Webb faulted on his first attempt, but came back with his best throw of the day in his second as he launched the hammer 62.11 meters (203'9"), which temporarily slotted him into ninth-place, which would've qualified him for the finals and three more throws. However, a couple throwers later, his mark would be surpassed, knocking him into the first spot out of the finals. His third throw would come up a bit shorter than his second, coming in at 61.42 meters (201'6"), locking him into 10
th place in the final standings as his day would end after three throws.
Southeastern now enjoys the rest of the day off, returning to action for day two of the Penn Relays on Friday with
Gabriel Lim and
Donroy Brown set to compete in the javelin throw and shot put, respectively. Lim and the javelin throw are set to start at 1:45 p.m. Eastern/12:45 p.m. Central while Brown and the shot put starts at 3 p.m. Eastern/2 p.m. Central.
The entirety of the Penn Relays, presented by Toyota, is being live streamed by FloSports while live results are also available through the host institution.
