Glorioso Leads Lions on Opening Day of SLC Championships

SLU tees off for second round Tuesday at 11 a.m.

KERRVILLE, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana University senior Grayson Glorioso was the top finisher for the SLU men's golf team after the opening round of the 2024 Southland Conference Championships Monday at Comanche Trace.
 
The Lions finished the opening day of the tournament with a team score of 309 (+21) – good for eighth place in the standings. Lamar sits atop the team leaderboard at two-under par after the initial 18 holes.
 
Glorioso fired a first round 75 (+3) to sit in a tie for 22nd place. Patrick Blaum (+5, T27th), Colby Sullivan (+5, T27th), Landen East (+8, T42nd) and Ethan Dial (+10, T47th) rounded out the Lion lineup.
 
Southeastern was one of three teams with multiple eagles on the day, as Glorioso and East both carded a three on the 533-yard, par-5 4th hole Monday. Augusta's Cole Stevens holds the day one individual lead after shooting a round of 68 (-4).
 
SLU will be paired with Francis Marion for Tuesday's second round, which tees off at 11 a.m. Live scoring, provided by the Southland Conference, will be accessible via the men's golf schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
