HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team competes in the Southland Conference Championships, the baseball and softball teams continue SLC play and five members of the track and field team will compete in prestigious Penn Relays during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The SLU men's golf team will participate in the league tournament this week. The conference championship event runs Monday through Wednesday at Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Texas. Monday and Tuesday's rounds are set for 11 a.m. with Wednesday's final round scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m.
 
The Southeastern baseball team (19-19, 3-9 SLC) opens the week with a 6 p.m. contest Tuesday, hosting Alcorn State at 6 p.m. Prior to the game, Barn Hill Preserve will sponsor a 3:30 p.m. block party that will feature live animals, party games and t-shirts. Every Tuesday at the Pat is a $2 Tuesday featuring $2 general admission and hot dogs.
 
Alcorn State will also visit Hammond for a 3 p.m. contest Wednesday for Autism Awareness Day. Kids can stand with their favorite Lion during the national anthem for both Tuesday's and Wednesday's contests.
 
SLU will then return to SLC play, heading to McNeese for a three-game series in Lake Charles. The series opens with a 6 p.m. contest Friday, continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
The Lady Lion softball team (37-10, 14-4 SLC) will close out its home schedule with five games at North Oak Park this week. Southeastern hosts Alcorn State for a 4 p.m. nonconference doubleheader Tuesday. Tuesday is Fan Appreciation Day and fans will be able to enjoy fireworks in conjunction with the twin bill.
 
SLU will then welcome Lamar for a three-game SLC series. The series opens with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday and concludes Saturday at noon. Fans can win prizes by playing Bingo at the Ballpark Saturday.
 
Select members of the Southeastern track and field team have received invites to the Penn Relays, scheduled for Thursday through Saturday in Philadelphia. Terrell Webb will compete in the hammer throw Thursday, while Gabriel Kim (javelin) and Donroy Brown (shot put) will participate Friday. Saturday will see Slavko Stevic (high jump) and Lance Hamilton (triple jump) represent the Lions.
 
On the Air
Wednesday's final round of the SLC Golf Championships, as well as all of this week's baseball and softball action will be televised on ESPN+, while the track action will air on FloSports. This week's baseball contests will air on 90.9 The Lion.
