HOUSTON, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team dropped its first-round match 3-0 to the third-seeded HCU Friday morning at the Third Coast in Houston, Texas.
The sixth-seeded Southeastern (12-18, 4-4 SLC) fell behind early as the Huskies (11-20) gained the first three matches with a two-set edge. SLU will now have to battle its way out of the elimination bracket. The Lady Lions will have to win two matches Saturday to make it to Championship Day Sunday afternoon.
Friday's Results:
SLU will return to the sand Saturday morning at 9 a.m. seeking redemption against the seventh-seeded McNeese (3-21). The Cowgirls dropped their opening round match 3-0 Friday morning to the second-seeded Boise State Broncos (29-11). In their last meeting this season, Southeastern defeated McNeese 4-1 in the SLC Mid-Season Invitational in New Orleans, Louisiana. All matches of the 2024 SLC Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament will take place at the Third Coast in Houston, Texas.
