HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball and women's tennis teams will compete in their respective Southland Conference Championships, while the softball, baseball and track and field teams will also be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Southeastern beach volleyball team (12-17) will be the No. 6 seed in the SLC Championships, which open Friday at Third Coast in Houston. The Beach Lions will open the double-elimination tournament versus third-seeded HCU Friday at 11:30 a.m. The tournament runs through Sunday with the winner earning the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
 
The bracket for the Southland Conference Women's Tennis Championships has not been announced, but SLU (9-11, 2-5 SLC) expects to be the No. 7 seed and face the No. 10 seed in the first round Thursday at 10 a.m. at the McFarlin Tennis Center in San Antonio. The tournament runs through Sunday with the winner earning the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
 
The Lady Lions softball team (36-8, 13-2 SLC) will hit the road for a key Southland Conference series this week. Southeastern heads to Nicholls for a series that opens with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday and concludes Saturday at noon.
 
The Southeastern baseball team (19-17, 3-9 SLC) will take a break from SLC play this week. The Lions will host UL Lafayette Tuesday at 6 p.m., before returning to the Ragin' Cajuns Wednesday at 6 p.m.
 
Every Tuesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field is a $2 Tuesday with general admission tickets and hot dogs at the concession stand on sale for $2. Kids can also stand with their favorite Lion during the national anthem. Tuesday is also MLB Jersey Night at The Pat.
 
The SLU track and field teams will continue their outdoor seasons this week. The Lions and Lady Lions will be in Baton Rouge Saturday to compete in the LSU Alumni Gold at 10 a.m.

All of this week's baseball action and Friday's softball doubleheader will be televised on ESPN+. This week's baseball contests will air on 90.9 The Lion.
