BATON ROUGE, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team closed out day two 1-1 Saturday afternoon in the Battle on the Bayou to end the weekend.
Southeastern (12-17, 4-4 SLC) began the day with a 4-1 win over conference rival New Orleans (11-20, 3-8 SLC) Saturday morning at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium. The Lady Lions gained their first win of the tournament as pair three and four claimed a two-set victory to help the team snap a two-game losing streak.
SLU closed out day two with a 5-0 loss to No. 9 LSU (20-9). Reigning Pair of the Week
Andrea Da Silva and
Rachel Hartmann fought to gain a spark for the Lady Lions, but could force the game into three sets. Southeastern suffered its second sweep of the weekend to its third ranked opponent this season.

Southeastern will return to action to compete in the Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament Thursday in Houston, Texas. All matches April 18-21 will be played at Third Coast.
