The 2024 class will include Amir Abdur-Rahim (men's basketball), Courtney Donald Sweeney (volleyball), Chris Laiche (baseball), Kevin Millican (baseball) and Alex Young (track and field).

The incoming class will be inducted at the Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet presented by North Oaks Health System, scheduled for Sept. 13 at the War Memorial Student Union Ballroom. The SLU football team will open its 2024 home schedule Sept. 14, hosting Eastern Washington at Strawberry Stadium. The newest inductees and all current Hall of Famers in attendance will be recognized at halftime of the SLU-EWU game.

A three-time All-Southland Conference guard from 2001-04, the Marietta, Georgia native ranks among the school's career leaders in points (1,284), three-point field goals made (194) and steals (120). The 2003-04 Southeastern Male Athlete of the Year led the Lions to their first SLC regular season championship as a senior.

The Owls steadily improved under Abdur-Rahim's tutelage, culminating in winning the ASUN Conference championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. He just finished his first season at South Florida, earning AAC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Bulls to the conference regular season championship.

Donald Sweeney, who competed under her maiden name from 2009-12, is the sixth volleyball student-athlete to be named to the SLU Athletics Hall of Fame. The Tomball, Texas native joins former Lady Lions Anne Bauer Peytavin, Sarah Gascon, Denise Kubena Wyninger, Christie Mikolajchak-Cripps and Darci Starr.Courtney Donald

Donald Sweeney was the first Lady Lion to be named Louisiana Player of the Year as a senior, setting a new single-season school record with a .330 attack percentage on the way to earning first team All-SLC and SLU Female Athlete of the Year accolades.
