HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University Beach Volleyball team defeated Central Arkansas 4-1 Friday afternoon in day one of the program's first Southeastern Invitational in Hammond, La.
The Lady Lions (4-3, 2-0 SLC) gained its first win of the weekend after a two-hour weather delay Friday morning to open serve against Central Arkansas. Southeastern progressed to a three-game winning streak after four dominant two set advantages over the Sugar Bears at home. SLU's top pair

Rachel Hartmann improved to 6-1 in the season to close out day one. Southeastern showcased its talent on day one, limiting their opponent to only one victory. The scheduled match against conference rival McNeese was canceled due to the weather delay.
Friday's Results:
Day two starts at 9 a.m. as Texas A&M-Kingsville opens serve against the McNeese Cowgirls Saturday morning followed by Central Arkansas set to face Spring Hill at 11 a.m. SLU will return to the sand Saturday afternoon against Texas A&M-Kingsville at 1 p.m. The Lady Lions will return to the sand at 5 p.m. in a rematch against Spring Hill to close out the weekend.
