HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University Beach Volleyball team is set to host the program's first Southeastern Invitational this weekend in Hammond, La. at the Southeastern Beach Volleyball Complex.
 
The Lady Lions (3-3, 2-0 SLC) welcome four teams to the two-day tournament, looking to extend their winning streak after finishing 2-0 on the road in the Bayou Battle last weekend over conference foes New Orleans and Nicholls. SLU will play four matches at home, including one in-conference match against McNeese as Southeastern is undefeated against conference opponents so far this season.
 
Southeastern will face Central Arkansas (0-8) Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. to begin day one before competing against conference rival McNeese (1-7) at 5 p.m. to end the day. The Sugar Bears are looking to snap an eight-game losing streak after falling to Nebraska and Southern Mississippi in the Tiger Beach Challenge last weekend. McNeese is seeking to gain another win to the season after falling short in the Stephen F. Austin Invitational.
 
 SLU will return Saturday afternoon to open serve at 1 p.m. against Texas A&M-Kingsville (5-2) before returning to the sand at 5 p.m. to rematch against Spring Hill College (4-5) to close out the tournament. Texas A&M-Kingsville is returning from a five-match sweep over Park University last weekend while Spring Hill is seeking to add to its three-game winning streak in the tournament.
 
Southeastern's top pair of Andrea Da Silva and Rachel Hartmann remain consistent standing 5-1 this season as the Lady Lions look to compound its winning streak. Friday's action will kick off at 9 a.m. with Central Arkansas competing against Texas A&M-Kingsville. Saturday's first match of the day will begin at 9 a.m. as McNeese takes on Texas A&M-Kingsville. All matches at the Southeastern Invitational will be played at the Southeastern Beach Volleyball Complex.
 
After Saturday's matches, the Lady Lions will travel to Youngsville, La. to host their annual Sugar Beach Bash starting March 15. Southeastern will face Boise State March 15 at 11 a.m. before returning to the sand against Stephen F. Austin at 5 p.m. SLU will open serve Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. against South Carolina before taking on Southern Miss at 4 p.m. to end the weekend.
