NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team split two matches Friday afternoon in the Southland Mid-Season Invitational hosted at Privateer Beach to begin the weekend.
Southeastern (7-8, 3-2 SLC) snapped its four-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over New Orleans before falling 3-2 to HCU later in the afternoon to close out day one of the conference showcase. The Lady Lions have suffered two losses to conference opponents this season while Southeastern's top pair won both duals this afternoon to provide SLU some momentum throughout the day. Juniors

Andrea Da Silva continue to lead with a five-match winning streak to progress to 13-2 this season.

The Lady Lions will return to the sand Saturday morning for day two of the Southland Mid-Seasonal Invitational to face San Jose State at 9:15 a.m. before competing against McNeese at 2:30 p.m. SLU will end the weekend against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 1:15 p.m. Sunday morning before taking on Nicholls at 5:15 p.m. for the second time this season. All matches will be played at Privateer Beach.
