HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team opens Southland Conference play, while the softball, track and field, tennis and beach volleyball teams will be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The Southeastern baseball team (14-6) closes out a 10-game home stand Tuesday, hosting LSU Alexandria at 6 p.m. at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Every home Tuesday at the Pat is a $2 Tuesday, as fans receive $2 general admission and can purchase $2 hot dogs at the concession stand. Kids can stand next to their favorite Lion during the national anthem prior to Tuesday's game.
Southeastern will then open up its SLC schedule with a three-game series at Northwestern State. The series opens Friday at 6:30 p.m., continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m. in Natchitoches.
The SLU softball team (21-6, 5-1 SLC) will close out a four-game road swing with a 6 p.m. nonconference contest at ULM Wednesday. The Lady Lions will then return home to host HCU for a three-game Southland series at North Oak Park. The series opens with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday and concludes Saturday at noon.
This weekend is Military Appreciation Weekend, as all military personnel with a valid ID will receive free admission. Fans will have a chance to win prizes Saturday by playing Bingo at the Ballpark.
The Lion tennis team (6-8, 0-2 SLC) will return to the court this week. SLU heads to McNeese for a 2 p.m. league match Saturday in Lake Charles.
The Southeastern track and field teams will compete in the second meet of the outdoor season. The Lions and Lady Lions travel to Baton Rouge Saturday for the Keyth Talley Invitational hosted by LSU.
The SLU beach volleyball team (6-7) will be in New Orleans Friday through Sunday to compete in the Southland Conference Mid-Year Invitational.

All of this week's baseball games and the softball series versus HCU will be televised on ESPN+. This week's baseball contests will air on 90.9 The Lion.
