YOUNGSVILLE, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team fell short in two matches Friday afternoon at the Sugar Beach Bash hosted in Youngsville, Louisiana to begin the weekend.
Southeastern (6-5, 2-1 SLC) opened day one of the tournament with a 0-5 loss against conference foe Boise State (13-6, 1-0 SLC). The Broncos gained their first conference win of the season with all five matches decided with a two-set advantage snapping the Lady Lions six game winning streak.

Andrea Da Silva worked to gain some momentum for the Lady Lions as they defeated the Lady Jacks with a 21-13 and 21-18 victory. Isabella Lockwood and freshman
Erin Engel also gained a win over Stephen F. Austin with a two-set advantage to avoid a sweep.
Friday's Results:
The Lady Lions will move on for day two of the Sugar Beach Bash against its second power five opponent this season. To start the day Southeastern will take on South Carolina at 12 p.m. before facing Southern Miss later in the afternoon at 4 p.m. to close out the weekend. All matches will be played at the Youngsville Sports Complex Sugar Beach Facility.
