Southeastern Finishes Sixth at Gulf Coast Collegiate

Dorr, Sullivan lead SLU in Tuesday's final round

NEW ORLEANS – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team finished sixth at the Gulf Coast Collegiate, which wrapped up Tuesday at English Turn Golf & Country Club.

Southeastern finished its first tournament of the spring with a 915 (+51). Memphis maintained its first day lead and topped the team tournament standings at 16-over par.

The Lions posted their highest score of the tournament Tuesday, but two SLU players carded their lowest rounds of the week. Griffin Dorr shook off a tough Monday to fire a two-over par 74 Tuesday, while Colby Sullivan was one stroke off his pace with a final-round 75.

Patrick Blaum, who was one of five players in the field to record a tournament-high 12 birdies, was Southeastern's top finisher. The Covington, Louisiana native was 11-over par for the tournament and finished in a tie for 16th place.

Ethan Dial (T31st, +16), Sullivan (T36th, +17), Landen East (T47th, +19) and Dorr (T50th, +20) rounded out the Southeastern five. Memphis' Diego Lourenco shot even par over 54 holes to take home individual medalist honors, besting teammate Jack Tanner by one stroke.

The Gulf Coast Intercollegiate was the first of five tournaments on the slate this spring for the Lions. SLU next heads to the Colin Montgomery Invitational March 4-5 in Sugar Land, Texas.
