Southeastern Opens Spring at Gulf Coast Intercollegiate

SLU one of 16 schools competing at English Turn Monday and Tuesday

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team will open the spring portion of its 2023-24 schedule at the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the English Turn Golf Course.

The first two rounds are set for Monday at 8 a.m. with the final 18 holes scheduled for Tuesday at 8 a.m. Live scoring, provided by host New Orleans, will be accessible via the golf schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

Southeastern will be one of 16 teams competing on the par-72, 7.078-yard course. SLU and UNO will be joined by Southland Conference rivals HCU, Nicholls, Texas A&M-Commerce and UIW. The field also includes Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Memphis, Morehead State, Murray State, Prairie View, St. John's, Stephen F. Austin, Southern, Texas Southern and UT Martin.

The Lions will be looking to build on a strong finish to the fall season. After a slow start to the 2023-24 campaign, SLU closed out the fall with a second-place showing at the LaTour Intercollegiate.

The Gulf Coast Intercollegiate is the first of five tournaments on the slate this spring for the Lions. Following the opening tournament, SLU heads to Colin Montgomery Invitational March 4-5 in Sugar Land, Texas.
