HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University Beach Volleyball team opens its 2024 season on the road this weekend in the Tulane Invitational at the White Sands Volleyball Courts.
 
"We're excited for this season and to showcase the talent we have," said SLU head volleyball Coach Jeremy White. "We have athletes now to start pressing forward and make things happen."
 
The Lady Lions are returning six players from last season's team that ranked as the fifth seed in the conference tournament last season and have brought in ten newcomers to this season's team to help propel the success of the program.
 
Southeastern open serves Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. against the home-standing Tulane Green Wave, the first of two matches on the opening day. Day one ends at 11 a.m. when the Lady Lions take on North Alabama.
 
SLU will return to the sand for day two that has two matches scheduled. Southeastern will face Oregon at 11 a.m. before competing against Spring Hill College at 1:30 p.m. to close out the opening weekend of the beach volleyball season.
 
Southeastern was picked sixth in the Southland Conference preseason poll for the second consecutive year after an announcement by the conference this afternoon. The conference also selected four Lady Lions as Players to Watch this season. Senior Ysabella Lockwood and sophomore Mia McKinney for the second following year were named alongside newcomers Andrea Da Silva and Mia Sauers.
