HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team will look to extend Division I's longest win streak, while the men's and women's basketball teams continue nonconference play and a pair of cross country student-athletes will participate in NCAA Regionals during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
After clinching its second straight SLC regular season championship and the top seed in next week's Southland Conference Tournament, the SLU volleyball team (22-4, 14-0 SLC) carries a 22-match win streak into the final two matches of the regular season. The Lady Lions will be at East Texas A&M for a 6:30 p.m. match Thursday, before closing out the regular season with a 1 p.m. match Saturday at Northwestern State.
The Southeastern men's basketball team (1-1) will continue its stretch of 10 games away from home Tuesday, when it travels to Mississippi State for a 6:30 p.m. game Tuesday in Starkville, Mississippi.
The Lady Lion women's basketball team (1-1) will return home to host Southern Miss Friday at 6 p.m. in the University Center. Arianna Patton will be Saturday's Spotlight Player of the Game and the first 150 fans will receive a trading card featuring the Meridian, Mississippi native courtesy of PRIDE.
All military veterans and active military personnel will receive free admission to Friday's game by presenting their valid military ID.
Two members of the SLU cross country program will compete in the NCAA South Central Regional Championships Friday in College Station, Texas. Ava Pitarro will compete in the women's 6K race at 9 a.m., while Euan Lagan runs in the men's 10K race at 10 a.m.
