HAMMOND, La. – The reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Southeastern Louisiana University softball team earned its third victory of the fall, defeating Pearl River Community College, 27-5, in a 10-inning exhibition Wednesday night at North Oak Park.
 
Southeastern collected 24 hits on the night. Maddie Watson and Shelby Morris led SLU with four hits apiece. Maria Detillier added three hits, while Chloe Magee, Lainee Bailey, Colleen Kulivan and Cydnee Schneider each had two hits.
 
Bailey homered for the second straight game and led the Lady Lions with five RBI, while Watson and Detillier drove in three apiece. Magee, Kulivan, Morris and Kailey Dixon shared team-high honors with three runs each.
 
Five different SLU pitchers – Bailey, Macie LaRue, Allison Brunson, Hallie Burns and Britney Lewinski – threw two innings apiece and held the Bobcats to eight hits. LaRue, Burns and Lewinski each did not allow a run. Burns led Southeastern pitchers with four strikeouts, while Lewinski retired all six batters she faced.
 
The Lady Lions will return to action Oct. 16, hosting Coastal Alabama Community College for a 5 p.m. 10-inning exhibition at North Oak Park.
