SUGAR LAND, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana University's
Griffin Dorr and
Viggo Hed both head into the final round in contention for individual medalist honors after the opening day of play at the Husky Intercollegiate at Riverbend Country Club.
Dorr, a native of Covington, Louisiana, carded back-to-back rounds of 70 to finish four-under par after 36 holes. Dorr sits alone in second place in the individual standings, one stroke behind day one leader JJ Zimmer of Middle Tennessee State.
Hed, who hails from Halmstad, Sweden, continues his strong play in his freshman campaign. Hed shot the low round of the day to open Monday's action, firing a 68 to hold the lead after 18 holes. He dropped a couple of shots in round two, but is in a tie for fourth place with a day one score of 142 (-2) and just three shots off the individual lead.
Southeastern (+15) is in eighth place in the team standings with DePaul (+4) heading into the final day atop the leaderboard.
