HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University cross country teams will compete in the Southland Conference Championships, the indoor volleyball team hosts Senior Day, Full Court Fest tips off the basketball season, while the football, golf, tennis, women's basketball and baseball teams will all be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The SLU men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the league meet Friday in New Orleans. The women's race opens the day at 8:30 a.m. with the men's race following at 9:30 a.m.
The SLC-leading Lady Lion indoor volleyball team (18-4, 10-0 SLC) looks to build on its 18-match winning streak this week. Southeastern closes out a four-match road swing with a 6:30 p.m. match at Nicholls Halloween night.
SLU then returns home to host Stephen F. Austin Saturday at noon in a battle of the top two teams in the Southland Conference standings. Prior to the showdown with the Lumberjacks, the Lady Lions will honor its 2024 senior class of Hannah Brewer, Gracie Duplechein and Cicily Hidalgo.
The Southeastern football team (4-5, 3-1 SLC) will be back on the road this week. The Lions will travel to Lamar for a 3 p.m. contest Saturday in Beaumont, Texas.
The SLU men's golf team will close out its fall schedule this week. Southeastern heads to Sugar Land, Texas Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Fall Husky Intercollegiate.
The Lion women's tennis team will continue its fall schedule this week. SLU will be in Beaumont, Texas to compete in the Joe Pyburn Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Lamer, runs Friday through Sunday.
The Southeastern women's basketball team will go through its final preparation for next week's official start to the regular season. The Lady Lions will host Louisiana Christian for a 6 p.m. exhibition Friday in the University Center.
Demi Gentry and Avari Berry will be Friday's Spotlight Players of the Game. The first 150 fans will receive trading cards featuring the Lady Lion sophomores courtesy of PRIDE.
Fans wanting to get a look at the SLU baseball team will have a pair of opportunities to catch scrimmages this week at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. The Lions host Southern Friday at 2 p.m. and Louisiana Tech Saturday at 1 p.m. A $10 donation to the Lion Athletics Association is the admission fee.
Southeastern students will be able to get ready for the 2024-25 season with Full Court Fest presented by Walk On's Sports Bistreaux set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. Students will able to meet and interact with the Lion and Lady Lion basketball teams, enjoy free food and have chances to win prizes.

Saturday's football and indoor volleyball contests will air on ESPN+. Saturday's football game will be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM).
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo airs Monday at 7 p.m. from Brady's in downtown Hammond. The show will air on Mondays throughout the season with Scelfo and host Allen Waddell discussing all things Lion Football on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM).
Golden Corral's Spencer Searcy will be the Community Spotlight guest for Monday's show.
