HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's basketball teams continue Southland Conference play, while the tennis team has three nonconference matches during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The Southeastern men's basketball team (7-13, 2-5 SLC) opens the week on the road, traveling to HCU for a 7 p.m. contest Monday. SLU returns home Saturday, hosting McNeese at 3:30 p.m. in the Pride Roofing University Center. First Guaranty Bank will be the game sponsor for Saturday's men's basketball contest.
The reigning Southland Conference champion SLU women's basketball team (11-8, 7-1 SLC) will host a pair of league foes this week. Southeastern welcomes UIW Thursday for a 6 p.m. contest, before hosting McNeese Saturday at 1 p.m. Thursday will be Military/First Responders Night at the Pride Roofing University Center, as all military and first responders in attendance will be recognized at halftime.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to Saturday's doubleheader as the games will be dedicated to the fight against breast cancer and all breast cancer survivors will be recognized at halftime.
Daija Harvey (Thursday) and Cheyanne Daniels (Saturday) are this week's Spotlights Players of the Game. The first 150 fans will receive trading cards featuring that game's Spotlight Player courtesy of PRIDE.
The Lion tennis team (0-2) will open the home portion of its 2024 schedule Wednesday, hosting Jackson State at 4:30 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex. SLU then heads to Grambling Friday for a 1 p.m. match, before closing the week with a 1 p.m. match at Louisiana Christian Saturday at noon.

All of this week's basketball action will be televised on ESPN+, while both women's basketball games and Saturday's men's basketball contest will be heard in the Hammond area on 90.9 The Lion.
The latest episode of "Inside Southeastern Basketball with David Kiefer" airs Tuesday at 7 p.m. on 90.9 The Lion, live from the Hammond location of Rainbow Daiquiris (14834 W. Thomas St.). The show will air Tuesdays at 7 p.m. through March 5 with Kiefer and host Mark Willoughby discussing all things Lion Basketball.
