HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University tennis team will open its fall schedule this weekend, as four Lions will compete in the Natchitoches Women's Care/Lady Demon Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Jack Fisher Complex on the Northwestern State campus.
 
All-Southland Conference junior Kate Oborina and fellow returning starter Alba Perez will be among the SLU contingent, as well as junior returner Bogi Csordas and freshman Claudia Di Leonardo.
 
Oborina, who finished 10-8 in singles play last spring, will compete in the Purple singles draw. The Perm, Russia native will face Northwestern State's Tjasa Klevisar Friday at 8:30 a.m.
 
Perez and Di Leonardo will compete in the Yellow singles draw. Di Leonardo will make her collegiate debut versus NSU's Honoka Umeda, while Perez takes on Lamar's Elena Rubio. First serves for both matches are set for 8:30 a.m. Friday.
 
Csordas will represent SLU in the Orange singles draw. Her first round match versus Tyler Junior College's Stephanie Gopar starts Friday at 10 a.m.
 
Oborina and Di Leonardo will pair up in the Purple doubles draw. The Lion duo opens play Friday at 2:30 p.m. versus the Lady Demon pair of Umeda and Ayu Ishibahsi.
 
Perez and Csordas will compete in the Orange doubles draw, facing Klevisar and Maria Farina Friday at 2:30 p.m.
 
This weekend's tournament is the first of six this fall for Southeastern. SLU will next head to the UCA Fall Invitational Sept. 22-23 in Conway, Arkansas.
