HAMMOND, La. – After helping the Southeastern Louisiana University softball team close out the regular season with a series sweep at Northwestern State, SLU junior designated player Audrey Greely was named the final Southland Conference Hitter of the Week of the 2023 season Sunday.
 
Greely is the sixth Lady Lion to receive SLC Player of the Week honors this spring, as teammates Bailey Krolczyk (March 27, April 10), Maria Detilier (March 13) and Lexi Johnson (Feb. 13, Feb. 20) all earned league Hitter of the Week honors, while Cera Blanchard (Feb. 13) and KK Ladner (March 27) took home Pitcher of the Week accolades.
 
Greely received her second Southland Hitter of the Week recognition as a Lady Lion. The two-time All-SLC selection from Geismar, Louisiana previously claimed the honor last Feb. 22.
 
Greely led Southeastern with five RBI in the series sweep of Northwestern State. She drew a bases loaded HBP in a 7-5 win on the series opener, before driving in the first two runs in a 3-0 victory in Friday's nightcap. She added two RBI in Saturday's 7-1 victory in the series finale.
 
Greely is the Southland leader in on-base percentage (.453) and HBP (nine), while also ranking among the league leaders in batting average (.331, 8^th), OPS (.961, 5^th) and walks (20, 7^th). The Parkview Baptist HS alum is also right outside of the SLC top 10 with four home runs, 27 RBI, nine doubles and 30 runs scored.
 
After closing the regular season with a single-season school record for overall wins and conference victories, the Lady Lions (44-12, 19-5 SLC) will be the No. 2 seed in next week's Southland Conference Tournament in Lake Charles and will open tournament play versus No. 7 seed HCU Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
 
The tournament, which is scheduled from Tuesday through Friday, will air on ESPN+ from Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond on the McNeese campus. Tickets are available by visiting McNeeseSports.com or by calling the McNeese ticket office at (337) 562-4678.
