HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will compete in the Southland Conference Championships, while the baseball team continues SLC play during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
After setting new single-season school records for overall and conference victories, the Southeastern softball team (44-12, 19-5 SLC) will be the No. 2 seed in the league tournament, which runs Tuesday through Friday on the McNeese campus in Lake Charles. Tickets are available by visiting McNeeseSports.com or by calling the McNeese ticket office at (337) 562-4678.
 
SLU opens the tournament Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. versus seventh-seeded HCU. The winner of the tournament will receive the Southland's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The field will be announced Sunday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
 
The Lion baseball team (19-26, 4-14 SLC) will close out its regular season road schedule this week, heading to HCU for a three-game SLC series. The series opens with a 2 p.m. contest Friday, continues Saturday at 1 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 2 p.m.

The 2023 edition of Inside Southeastern Baseball with Matt Riser continues Monday at noon from the patio at Cate Street Seafood Station. Riser will join co-host Allen Waddell at lunchtime every Monday during the season for the 60-minute show, talking the latest in Southeastern baseball. Cate Street Seafood Station is located at 308 S.
