HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University and Pride Roofing LLC have entered into a 10-year partnership, Southeastern Director of Athletics Jay Artigues announced Tuesday. 
 
Artigues is excited to partner with Pride Roofing, which has eight locations serving south Louisiana and Mississippi.
 
"We're grateful for the commitment Pride Roofing has shown to Southeastern Athletics and our university," Artigues commented. "The generosity of sponsors such as Pride Roofing provides the resources we need to maintain our position as the premier institution in the Southland Conference."
 
The sponsorship will include recognition as the Pride Roofing University Center for the length of the agreement. 
 
Opened in 1982, the University Center is the home to the SLU men's basketball program, as well as the reigning Southland Conference champion women's basketball and indoor volleyball programs. The multi-purpose facility seats 7,500 and serves as the host for the university's commencement exercises as well as major events, such as the LHSAA Girls' Basketball Marsh Madness.
 
A new court was installed in 2016 and refurbished in 2021. The rafters of the University Center are adorned with the retired numbers of Lion and Lady Lion hardcourt legends Robin Roberts, Pam Cook Forrest and C.A. Core, as well as national championship banners for the 1976-77 women's basketball team, the Southeastern cheerleaders and the Lionnette dance team.
 
With locations in Hammond, Albany, Covington, New Orleans, LaPlace and Lake Charles, as well as Mississippi locations in Gulfport and Laurel, Pride Roofing is one of only four Atlas Roofing Diamond-Platinum Contractors in Louisiana. From repairs to new installations, Pride Roofing LLC offers some of the highest quality roofing services in the Louisiana and Mississippi State area. Services include roof replacements, commercial flat roofs, standing seam, roof repairs and roof maintenance.
 
Pride Roofing co-founders Michael Fereday and Alex Martinez are excited to embark on the new partnership with the Lions and Lady Lions.

Martinez called the partnership a 'dream come true'.
 
"I've always wanted to be a part of this university and the Tangipahoa Parish community," Martinez commented. "To be able to enter this partnership means a lot to not only our business, but on a personal level as well."
