HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University track and field program hosts its lone home meet of the season, the baseball and softball teams continue Southland Conference play and the tennis and beach volleyball teams close out their respective regular seasons during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The Lion and Lady Lion track and field teams will host the Strawberry Relays Saturday at the Southeastern Track and Field Complex.
 
The SLU baseball team (16-16, 3-6 SLC) will open a nine-game home stand this week. Southeastern will host UL Lafayette for a 6 p.m. nonconference contest Wednesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. The Lions then welcome McNeese in a rematch of the 2022 Southland Conference championship series. The three-game series, sponsored by North Oaks Health System, will open Friday at 6 p.m., continue Saturday at 6 p.m. and conclude Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
Saturday is Alumni Day and all former Lions are invited back to see Southeastern face the Cowboys. General admission tickets are available for $5 every Friday during the season. Fans will have a chance to win prizes by playing Baseball Bingo every home Saturday at the Pat. All military personnel (active and veterans) will receive free admission every Sunday with a military ID.
 
The red-hot Southeastern softball team (35-8, 10-2 SLC) will look to extend its current 10-game winning streak this week. The Lady Lions will continue their nine-game road swing with a three-game league series at HCU. The series opens with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday and concludes Saturday at Noon.
 
The Lion tennis team (8-8, 2-3 SLC) closes its regular season this week, starting with a noon nonconference match Monday at Alcorn State. SLU hosts Nicholls Wednesday for a noon league match at the Southeastern Tennis Complex. Southeastern then heads to Northwestern State for a 1 p.m. league contest Thursday.
 
The SLU beach volleyball team (7-18, 2-4 SLC) will have its final tune-ups before next week's SLC Championships. The Beach Lions head to the UNO Invitational this week in New Orleans. Southeastern faces ULM (10 a.m.) and Stephen F. Austin (2 p.m.) Thursday, before closing the tournament Friday versus ULM (2 p.m.) and UNO (3:30 p.m.)

The 2023 edition of Inside Southeastern Baseball with Matt Riser continues Monday at noon from the patio at Cate Street Seafood Station. Riser will join co-host Allen Waddell at lunchtime every Monday during the season for the 60-minute show, talking the latest in Southeastern baseball. Cate Street Seafood Station is located at 308 S.
