HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball, softball and tennis teams will continue Southland Conference play, while the track and beach volleyball teams will also be in action during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The SLU baseball team (16-12, 3-3 SLC) will hit the road this week, starting with a 6 p.m. contest at Southern Miss. Southeastern will then head to New Orleans for a three-game Southland series at the Privateers. The series opens with a 6:30 p.m. contest Thursday, continues Friday at 6:30 p.m. and concludes Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
The Southeastern softball team (30-8, 7-2 SLC) opens a nine-game road swing with five games on tap this week. The Lady Lions start the week at Jackson State for a 3 p.m. nonconference doubleheader Tuesday. SLU then heads to UIW for a three-game league series. The set opens with a 5 p.m. doubleheader Friday and concludes with a 1 p.m. contest Saturday.
 
The Lion tennis team (7-7, 1-2 SLC) closes out its home schedule with three SLC matches this week. The home stand starts with a 10 a.m. match versus Lamar Tuesday, continues with a 2 p.m. contest Thursday versus Nicholls and concludes Saturday at 1 p.m. with a league match versus New Orleans.
 
The SLU track and field teams will continue the outdoor season this week. The Lions and Lady Lions will be in Baton Rouge to compete in the Pelican Relays Saturday.
 
The Southeastern beach volleyball team (6-15, 2-4 SLC) will head to Conway, South Carolina to compete in the Carolina Challenge this week. SLU faces Tampa at 7 a.m. and Erksine at 11 p.m. Friday. The Beach Lions close out tournament play Saturday with an 11 a.m. match versus Coastal Carolina and a 1 p.m. contest versus College of Charleston.

The 2023 edition of Inside Southeastern Baseball with Matt Riser continues Monday at noon from the patio at Cate Street Seafood Station. Riser will join co-host Allen Waddell at lunchtime every Monday during the season for the 60-minute show, talking the latest in Southeastern baseball. Cate Street Seafood Station is located at 308 S.
