LAFAYETTE, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team closes out the nonconference portion of its regular season schedule Tuesday, capping a nine-game road swing with a 6 p.m. contest at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette at Lamson Park.
The game between the Lady Lions (37-9) and the host Ragin' Cajuns (33-12) will air on ESPN+. Live stats for the game, provided by the hosts, will be accessible via the Southeastern softball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
Southeastern comes into the game with a league-best .318 batting average.
Bailey Krolczyk, who is on a school-record 20-game hitting streak, is second in the SLC with a .412 batting average and is one of seven SLU starters hitting above .300, along with
Cam Goodman (.352),
Audrey Greely (.346),
Maria Detillier (.333),
Maddie Leal (.320),
Lexi Johnson (.317) and
Ka'Lyn Watson (.308).
Krolczyk is also second in the Southland with 54 hits. Detillier is atop the Southland with 39 runs scored, while Goodman has stolen a league-high 30 bases.
Krolczyk has also been the league's top power hitter, as she leads the Southland in slugging percentage (.733), OPS (1.144), home runs (nine), doubles (13) and RBI (43). Johnson is second in the conference with eight home runs and 39 RBI, while she and
Madison Rayner share the SLC lead with four triples each.
The trio of
KK Ladner (11-1, 1.89 ERA),
Cera Blanchard (14-5, 2.41 ERA, 2 saves) and
Mary-Cathryn (MC) Comeaux (8-2, 2.12 ERA, 3 saves) have been the primary arms for a SLU pitching staff that has a 2.58 team ERA. Ladner, Blanchard and Comeaux all rank among the SLC leaders in wins, ERA and opposing batting average.
The Lady Lion arms will face a Ragin' Cajun lineup that has a .301 team batting average. Mihyia Davis leads the team with a .391 batting average, while Karly Heath has a team-high 11 home runs and Alexa Langeliers tops the roster with 31 RBI.
Meghan Schorman (12-5, 1.91 ERA) and Sam Landry (12-4, 2.14 ERA) are the top arms for a Ragin' Cajun pitching staff that comes into Tuesday's game with a 2.24 team ERA and a .194 opposing batting average.
Southeastern opens a six-game home stand this week, when it welcomes Nicholls for a three-game Southland Conference series at North Oak Park. The series opens with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday and continues Saturday at noon. The games will be televised live on ESPN+ and live stats will be available at

Gale's Fancy Faces will be at Friday's doubleheader to do face painting for young Lady Lion fans. Saturday is Senior Day and the Lady Lion senior class of Ladner and Rayner will be honored in conjunction with the noon contest. Young Lion fans will have an opportunity to run the bases following Saturday's series finale and fans will have the opportunity to win prizes by playing Bingo at the Ballpark.
