HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team will open the home portion of its Southland Conference schedule this week, hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a three-game series at North Oak Park.
The series between the Lady Lions (23-7, 2-1 SLC) and the visiting Islanders (13-11, 1-2 SLC) opens with a Friday 4 p.m. doubleheader and fans cans enjoy Friday Fireworks at North Oak Park. Saturday's noon series finale will feature Bingo at the Ballpark and kids can run the bases following the game. The series will be televised on ESPN+ and live stats will be available at

Southeastern opened its four-game home stand with a 4-2 victory over ULM Wednesday.

Audrey Greely and
Maddie Leal drove in runs in a three-run sixth, while
Cera Blanchard and
KK Ladner combined to hold the Warhawks to three hits.
The Lady Lions are hitting .306 as a team, as
Bailey Krolczyk (.390, 3
rd),
Maria Detillier (.370, 5
th) and Greely (.366, 6
th) give SLU three of the top hitters for average. Krolczyk is fourth in the league with 32 hits, Detillier is second with 25 runs scored, while
Cam Goodman shares the league lead with 17 stolen bases.

rd), Krolczyk (.622, 4
th), Detillier (.603, 5
th) and
Lexi Johnson (.589, 7
th) all rank in the league's top 10 in slugging percentage. Johnson's 28 RBI are good for second in the SLC, while she and Detillier are tied for second with five home runs, as well as sharing the league lead with
Madison Rayner with three triples. Krolczyk and Greely are tied for fourth on the conference leaderboard with seven doubles.
Blanchard (10-3, 2.36 ERA, 1 save) is the conference wins leader, while Ladner (7-1, 1.33 ERA) boasts the SLC's best ERA, opposing batting average (.194) and strikeout total (85).
Mary-Cathryn (MC) Comeaux (3-2, 3.77 ERA, 1 save),
Ellie DuBois (0-0, 8.03 ERA),
Alyssa Romano (1-0, 1.40 ERA),
Lainee Bailey (0-0, 4.50 ERA, 1 save),
Leah Marshall (1-0, 2.80 ERA) and
Chyanne Ellett (1-1, 10.50 ERA) round out a SLU pitching staff that has a 2.78 team ERA.
SLU will be facing an Islander lineup that is hitting .249 as a team. Kimane Rogron leads TAMU-CC with a .306 batting average, while Gabriella Torres leads the squad with three home runs. Primrose Aholelei (9-7, 1.94 ERA) is the ace of an Islander staff that carries a 3.68 team ERA to Hammond.
Following the conference series, SLU heads to Alcorn State for a 2 p.m. nonconference doubleheader next Tuesday in Lorman, Mississippi.
