Slavko Stevic took on the best of the best in the high jump in the nation on Saturday and finished with an 11
th place finish at the NCAA Indoor National Championships, earning a Second Team All-American honor at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Stevic cleared 2.15m (7'0.5") in the high jump discipline at the National meet, putting him in a two-way tie for 11
th overall in the competition and earning him one of the second team All-American honors.
The national championship-winning jump was 2.24m (7'4.25") while 2.21m (7'3"), which Stevic cleared at the Southland Conference Championships to set a new school record, would've been good enough for a silver medal and national runner-up.
With the indoor season now at an end, the Lions turn their attention to the outdoor season, which starts this Friday at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette and runs through Saturday at the Home Bank Track and Soccer Facility on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
