HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southeastern Louisiana University Beach Volleyball team completed its opening weekend of the season on Sunday at the Hub City Beach Bash, hosted by the University of Southern Mississippi, by splitting its two matches on the day, dropping the event's championship match to the host Golden Eagles 5-0 before knocking off the William Carey Crusaders 4-1 in the final match of the weekend at the USM Beach Volleyball Courts.
Sunday's Results:
SLU Head Volleyball Coach Jeremy White on the team's performance: "We're extremely proud of our performance this weekend. We competed well in every match, played through adversity and grew as a team. It's going to be a fun season."
The Lady Lions (3-2) return to action next weekend in Baton Rouge at the Tiger Beach Challenge hosted by LSU. Southeastern opens play on Saturday with an 11:00 a.m. match against Central Arkansas (0-4) and round out the day with a 6:00 p.m. match against North Alabama (1-3). All matches will be played at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium.
