HAMMOND, La. – For the second time in as many weeks, Southeastern Louisiana University infielder Lexi Johnson was named the Southland Conference Softball Hitter of the Week in an announcement from the league office on Monday.
 
Johnson was SLU's top performer at the plate again, helping Southeastern to a 6-0 week. The Reserve, Louisiana native hit .556 for the week with two home runs, two triples and 10 RBI.
 
Following the opening nine games, Johnson leads the Southland Conference with a .615 batting average, 16 hits and 13 RBI, while ranking among the league leaders in runs (nine), triples (two) and slugging percentage (1.038).
 
Southeastern will continue its 21-game road swing when it heads to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to compete in the Easton Bama Bash. SLU's five-game tournament slate opens Friday versus Indiana State at 11 a.m. Live stats, provide by host Alabama, will be accessible via the softball schedule page at www.LionSports.net/sidearmstats/softball. The Lady Lions' games versus the host Crimson Tide will be televised on SEC Network+.
