Jr. Slavko Stevic had his best high jump of the 2023 indoor season at the Howie Ryan Invitational
HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University track & field team gets its final tune-up before the Southland Conference Indoor Championships on Friday when the Lions take part in the LSU Twilight indoor meet at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
This is the second event of the season Southeastern will compete in at LSU, having previously taken part in the LSU Purple Tiger.
The focus for this meet is getting work in for the short sprinters, especially in the 60m dash.
"[SLU's athletes] will get in speed training in the 60 meters," said SLU head track and field coach Michael Rheams. "We expect
Cohen Gallant to move up the conference standings following this meet."
While track may see a lot of the focus on Friday, at least one member of the field contingent will be looking to make big moves on in this event.
"One thing we're looking forward to is watching
Slavko Stevic as he attempts to qualify for the NCAA National Indoor Meet," continued Rheams.
The LSU Twilight indoor meet begins with the women's weight throw at 10:00 a.m. at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse. The 60m hurdles starts at 1:00 p.m. to kick off the track portion of the event.
