HAMMOND, La. – Byrd High School product Ethan Dial will continue his academic and athletic endeavors as members of the Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf program, SLU head coach Lawrence Allan announced Tuesday.
 
Dial will join the program for the 2023-24 season. The Shreveport, Louisiana native joins Noah Bumgarner (Lenoir, North Carolina), Landen East (Sulphur, Louisiana) and Lexton Ford (Lenoir, North Carolina) as members of the 2023-24 Southeastern golf signing class.
 
Dial is in his senior season at Byrd High School. In 2021, he shot two-under and won in a playoff at the prestigious Allstate Sugar Bowl Tommy Moore Memorial, before coming in fourth in the same event in 2022.
 
"Ethan has proven that he can produce low scores under pressure and against high-level competition," Allan commented. "He comes to us from one of the top high school programs in the state. Ethan is the caliber of player we want to add to our program and we're excited to have him in Hammond."
 
Dial's future teammates will open the spring portion of their 2022-23 slate Feb. 27-28, competing in the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate in Diamondhead, Mississippi.
