HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's basketball teams open 2024 with the start of Southland Conference play, while the 2023-24 debut episode of "Inside Southeastern Basketball with David Kiefer" airs during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The reigning Southland Conference regular season and tournament champion SLU women's basketball team (4-7) will open its title defense Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. contest at Nicholls. The Lady Lions will then head to New Orleans Saturday for a 2 p.m. game at UNO.
The Southeastern men's basketball team (5-8) carries a three-game winning streak into conference play. SLU will open league play with a 4 p.m. contest at New Orleans Saturday.
On the Air
All of this week's action will be televised on ESPN+ and will be heard in the Hammond area on 90.9 The Lion.
The debut episode of "Inside Southeastern Basketball with David Kiefer" airs Wednesday at 7 p.m. on 90.9 The Lion, live from the Hammond location of Rainbow Daiquiris (14834 W. Thomas St.). Following the debut, the show will air Tuesdays at 7 p.m. through March 5 with Kiefer and host Mark Willoughby discussing all things Lion Basketball.
