SLU Adds Pair for 2024-25

Ingram, Hed are newest Lions

HAMMOND, La. – A pair of student-athletes will continue their academic and athletic endeavors as members of the Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf program, SLU head coach Lawrence Allan announced Monday.

The newest Lions are Gavin Ingram (Derbyshire, England) and Viggo Hed (Halmstad, Sweden) and will start in Hammond in the 2024-25 season. Allan is excited about his latest additions.

"We're excited to add two student-athletes of Gavin and Viggo's caliber to our program," Allan commented. "We'll lose our No. 1 (Grayson Glorioso) after this spring and both Gavin and Viggo will be competing with several of our currently players for that top spot in our lineup. We've made our team better with the addition of two talented, strong players."

Ingram finished second at the England Golf National Boys Champion of Champions Finals earlier this year. Last year, he shot three-under over 54 holes and won the Robert Rock St. Andrew Links U18 Championships. During his prep career, he also won three Derbyshire County Boys Championships.

Hed has multiple top-10 finishes to his credit earlier this year in his native Sweden. He finished second at both the Galvin Green Junior Open (JMI) and Crecy Juniors International tournaments in 2023. His late father, Fredrik Andersson Hed, was a champion on the European Tour.

Ingram and Hed's future teammates will open the spring portion of their 2023-24 schedule Feb. 26-27 at the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate in New Orleans.
