Glorioso Paces Lions on Opening Day of Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate

SLU wraps up play with Tuesday's final round at 8 a.m.

JONESBORO, Ark. – Southeastern Louisiana University senior Grayson Glorioso shot three-under par over the first two rounds to lead the SLU men's golf team Monday at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate at RidgePointe Country Club.
 
Glorioso paced the Lions on a day which Southeastern finished with a 36-hole score of 578 (+2). SLU will enter Tuesday's final round in 10th place in the team standings.
 
Southeastern opened the day strong, shooting four-under par as team in the first round. Patrick Blaum shot a 70 (-2) over the initial 18 holes, while Glorioso (-1), Lexton Ford (-1) and Landen East (E) had solid showings in the opening round.
 
Glorioso backed up his opening round showing with a second-round 70. The Metairie, Louisiana native, who was tied for sixth among the field with 13 birdies Monday, sits in a tie for 21st in the individual standings. Ford (+1, T44th), East (+1, T44th), Blaum (+3, T56th) and Ethan Dial (+23, 88th) rounded out the Lion lineup.
 
Host Arkansas State (-35) holds a 12-stroke lead over second place Jacksonville State heading into the final round. JSU's Erik Jansson (-11) was the day one individual leader.
 
SLU will be in a foursome with Oklahoma Christian, Central Michigan and Texas A&M-Commerce for Tuesday's final round, which tees off at 8 a.m. Live scoring will be accessible via the golf schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
