CONWAY, Ark. – Southeastern Louisiana University sophomore Panatchakorn Suanarsa was the Lion tennis team's top performer at this weekend's UCA Fall Invitational on the Central Arkansas campus.
 
Southeastern was part of a strong field that included the host Bears, as well as North Texas, Missouri State, Austin Peay and Southland Conference rival Northwestern State. SLU head coach Jason Hayes was pleased with the way his Lions responded to the stiff competition.
 
"We played with great effort and had a good attitude all weekend," Hayes commented. "Our primary goal for our fall season is to continue to improve and we definitely got better as the weekend progressed."


 
Suanarsa was the leader for the Lions in her first tournament of the fall, finishing 3-0 in singles play and teaming with Bogi Csordas for a 2-1 mark in doubles play. The Nakhonsawan, Thailand native, whose nickname is "Fresh", impressed Hayes in her 2023-24 debut.
 
"Fresh came back to campus as a different player than she was as a freshman," Hayes said. "She's seeing the results of all the hard work she put in this summer."
 
Nadia Hitzman also picked up a pair of singles wins this weekend for SLU, while Claudia di Leonardo and Carla Del Barrio each earned singles victories.
 
After taking a limited member of players to the first two tournaments, the full Southeastern roster will make the trip to the UWF Fall Invitational, scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Pensacola, Florida.
