Nedow's Shot Put Moves Him Into Top-10 in Region

LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University track & field team got gold performances from Thomas Nedow and Terrell Webb while several personal bests were bettered, including two each by Seth Pagart and Cole Palmer Friday at the McNeese State College Indoor Meet.

Things started quickly for the Lions in the field events on the men's side. Webb gave Southeastern its first gold of the day with a 17.5m throw in weight throw. Nedow followed that quickly with a 17.07m throw in shot put for SLU's second gold medal of the day. Nedow's throw in the shot put was the 10th best in the South-Central region so far this season for indoor and third best in the Southland Conference.

Soon after that. Pagart got his two personal bests on the day with a 13.2m throw in shot put and 14.11m throw in the weight throw.

On the women's side, Katrine Olsen brought home the silver in the high jump as her best jump cleared 1.65m. Kallie Calvaruso notched her personal best in that event as well with a 1.55m high jump.

Cole Palmer wrapped up the day of bests for the Lions as he set a new personal best in the long jump at 6.46m and followed that up with a personal best in pole vault with a 3.73m vault.

The Lions are back in action in two weeks, on Feb. 10th, in Houston at the Howie Ryan Invitational, which is being hosted by the University of Houston.
