HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team will compete in its second fall tournament of the 2022-23 season this week, traveling to the Derek Dolenc Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Gateway Golf Links in Madison, Illinois.
Southeastern is part of a 16-team field that will test the par-71, 7,106-yard course. A shotgun start is set for 8:15 a.m. for Monday's first 36 holes. The final round is scheduled for Tuesday with live stats, provided by host SIU Edwardsville, for the tournament accessible via the men's golf schedule page at
www.LionSports.net.
SLU will be paired with Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood and Southern Indiana Monday. The remainder of the participants include host SIUE, Idaho, UT Martin, Omaha, Southern Illinois, Bradley, Missouri State, Weber State, New Orleans, Murray State, Samford and Green Bay.
The Lions will have the same starting five –
Patrick Blaum,
Charlie Forster,
Grayson Glorioso,
Michael Landry and
Cameron Mobley – as it did in last week's season opener at the Grover Page Classic. Forster will be looking to build on his top-10 finish last week, which saw him card a three-under 213 for the tournament.
Following the tournament, Southeastern will take a couple of weeks off before heading to the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate Oct. 10-11 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
