Forster Leads SLU on Opening Day of Grover Page Classic

Forster, Glorioso shoot under par for Southeastern in round two

JACKSON, Tenn. – Charlie Forster shot even par to lead the defending Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana University men's golf team on the opening day of the Grover Page Classic Monday at Jackson Country Club.
 
The Lions sit in 11th place in the standings after the first two rounds with a 36-hole score of 595 (+19). North Alabama holds the day one lead at 13-under par.
 
Southeastern started the day slowly, shooting 18-over over the first round. The Lions steadied in the second round, shooting just one over led by subpar rounds by Forster (70, -2) and Grayson Glorioso (71, -1).
 
Forster was the top finisher for the Lions on the opening day of the 2022-23 season, as he sits in a tie for 27th place. The rest of the SLU contingent includes Glorioso (+3, T44th), Michael Landry (+8, T64th), Patrick Blaum (+9, T68th) and Cameron Mobley (+13, T83rd). Tennessee Tech's Jackson Skeen leads the individual standings with a two-round score of 136 (-8).
 
Southeastern will be paired with Central Arkansas and Nicholls for Tuesday's final round, which starts at 8:30 a.m. Live results, provided by host UT Martin, will be accessible on the golf schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
