HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football, soccer and volleyball teams will all compete in Southland Conference play, the defending Southland champion golf team opens its 2022-23 and cross country wraps up its pre-conference schedule during this week in Southeastern Athletics.  
 
The Lion football team (1-2) will host its second of four straight games at home, welcoming No. 6/8 UIW for the Southland Conference opener for both teams Saturday at 6 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium.
 
The red-hot Southeastern volleyball team (11-2, 1-0 SLC) carries a five-match win streak into its toughest Southland road trip of the season. The Lady Lions will face the top two picks in the SLC preseason poll this week, starting with a 6:30 p.m. match at HBU Thursday. Defending league champion Texas A&M-Corpus Christi awaits Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
Also off to a strong start is the SLU soccer team (4-2-1, 2-0-1 SLC). The Lady Lions will travel to HBU for a 7 p.m. conference match Saturday.
 
The defending Southland Conference champion Lion golf team will open up the fall portion of its 2022-23 schedule this week. SLU heads to Jackson, Tennessee to compete in the Grover Page Classic Monday and Tuesday.
 
The Southeastern men's and women's cross country teams will participate in their final tune-up before next month's Southland Conference championships. The Lions and Lady Lions head to Baton Rouge to compete in the LSU Invitational Friday.
 
On The Air
This week's football, volleyball and soccer action volleyball matches will be televised on ESPN+. The SLU football matchup versus Central Connecticut State can also be heard on Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM.
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo is set for Monday at 7 p.m. The show will air weekly on the radio home of SLU Football - Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM. Hosted by Scelfo and Allen Waddell, the hour-long show will feature the latest on all things Lion Football.
 
Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden (505 W. Thomas St.) will serve as the host for the remainder of the season and the show will air from Pour House on Mondays at 7 p.m. through Nov. 21.
