HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University football, soccer and volleyball teams will all host games, the cross country and tennis teams will also be in action and the Lions and Lady Lions participate in the university's Giving Day during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
 
The No. 20/21 Southeastern football team (0-2) will open a four-game home stand this week. The Lions welcome Central Connecticut State for a 6 p.m. contest Saturday in Strawberry Stadium.
 
The SLU volleyball team (8-2) will return home to host the three-day Battle of the Boot in the University Center. Southeastern's tournament opener will double as its Southland debut, as the Lady Lions host Northwestern State Thursday at 6:30 p.m. As part of the tournament, SLU will face ULM Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Louisiana Tech Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
 
The Lady Lion soccer team (3-2, 1-0 SLC) will open the home portion of its Southland Conference slate with a pair of matches this week. SLU hosts Nicholls Friday at 7 p.m., before welcoming defending league champion Northwestern State for a 1 p.m. contest Sunday.
 
The Southeastern cross country teams will compete in their second meet of the season this week. The Lions and Lady Lions will participate in the Nicholls Invitational Saturday in Thibodaux.
 
The SLU tennis team opens its fall schedule this week. The Lions head to the Princess Resorts College Cup in Cancun, Mexico, scheduled for Tuesday through Sunday.
 
The university's annual Giving Day is set for Wednesday. Southeastern fans will have a chance to support the Lions and Lady Lions at https://www.southeasterngivingday.org/campaigns?group_id=472410.  
 
On The Air
This week's football and soccer action, as well as Thursday and Saturday's volleyball matches will be televised on ESPN+. The SLU football matchup versus Central Connecticut State can also be heard on Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM.
 
The latest episode of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo is set for Monday at 7 p.m. The show will air weekly on the radio home of SLU Football - Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM. Hosted by Scelfo and Allen Waddell, the hour-long show will feature the latest on all things Lion Football.
 
Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden (505 W. Thomas St.) will serve as the host for the remainder of the season and the show will air from Pour House on Mondays at 7 p.m. through Nov. 21.
