HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University golf's Logan Kuehn capped off a standout season as he was named to the 2022 Academic All-Southland Conference first team, the league office announced Tuesday.
 
Kuehn, a senior, finished the 2021-22 campaign with three top 10 finishes. The Lake Charles, Louisiana native won the Ellendale Intercollegiate, finished runner-up at the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate and eighth at the Southland Conference Championships.
 
As a result, Kuehn was also named first team All-Southland on May 5 after helping guide the Lions to the conference championship back on April 27 in McKinney, Texas. The Lions advanced to the NCAA Regionals in Bryan, Texas hosted by Texas A&M, the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013.
 
In his fifth year with the team, Kuehn led the team with 74.08 stroke average. The St. Louis Catholic High School grad also had 16 of 25 rounds where he shot 74 or lower.
 
Kuehn, a business management major, accumulated a 3.0 GPA to earn his way on to Tuesday's team.  He was joined on the first team by Southland Student-Athlete of the Year Nicholls' Ryan O'Neill, Francis Marion's Michael Rials, HBU's Ben Haton and UNO's Brady Bennett.
 
The league's second team included HBU's Mason Ghidina and Michael Towsend, Augusta's Brock Hoover, Nicholls' Martin Trochu and Augusta's Mitchell Vance.
