HAMMOND, La. – Led by Southland Conference Outdoor Track and Field Women's Outstanding Field Performer Kristian Jackson, the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field teams placed 11 student-athletes on the 2022 Southland Outdoor Track and Field teams, which were released by the league office on Wednesday.

Jackson, out of Zachary, Louisiana, won the Southland women's discus title while also finishing second in the shot put and hammer throw at last week's outdoor championships. The senior earned three spots on Wednesday's team earning first team in the discus and second team in the hammer throw and shot put.

SLU also received three other first team slots. Agerian Jackson claimed the 400m hurdles title at the conference championships while Slavko Stevic repeated as conference high jump champion. The men's 4x400 relay team of Jackson, Eugene and Jamie Omalla and DJ Morton also earned first team recognition.
Southeastern captured three second team spots as Eugene Omalla finished runner up in the men's 400m, Bradley Makuvire was second in the men's 10k and Terrell Webb in the men's hammer throw.

Tommy Nedow (men's shot put) and Anna Ferrand (women's javelin) were tabbed to the third team Wednesday.

The Lions and Lady Lions will continue preparation for the NCAA East Regional Qualifiers which is scheduled for May 25-28 in Bloomington, Indiana.
